I've been working feverishly (pun intended) during this isolation. Creating music keeping me sane, saving my life. I'm working with other musicians as I send them musical files; they record to those and send their beautiful contributions to me, which I slice&dice and edit and manipulate into finished tracks that often sound nothing like the original idea! Part of my creativity is following the White Rabbit wherever she leads. I love the process of discovery!

"Summer20" is a 94-minute collection of 9 tracks I created for my monthly subscribers on Patreon. This is 3 months worth, collected. I want to make this music available to the general pubic, and I plan to do so quarterly with all new creations.

I'm always inspired it seems. It's clear to me that I'm here on Earth to be creative, to add beauty and wonder, and healing to the world. ♥️

In mid-2019 I bought a kind of Russian hand-pan called a Rav Vast. Because it sounds so beautiful, I soon got the recording bug, which I'd not had for a decade. (I'd been fully fulfilled by leading group sound-meditations.)

Then I met Ari Urban. With-in a few minutes of our first duo-jam, my heart was bursting and I was weeping with Gratitude and Joy. The music we made together was magical! We learned we can conjure such beauty ANY time we play together! We call it Magic On Demand! ♥️ Our meeting changed both our lives, and we started recording music together.

Here's how it works: Ari (and other musicians) record over my Vast "beds" (simple repetitions patterns). I chop up musician's parts and start moving them around, adding & subtracting, slicing & dicing, looking to solve the sonic puzzle, creatively following the White Rabbit. Eventually I find the "key" to unlock the hidden song. Voila!

It's a VERY creative process, since there's no "song" or structure for me to start with. It's kinda like finding the sculpture hidden inside a block of granite. Except that this is very much an additive process as well as a subtractive one. I spend an average of 30 to 50 hours per track (sometimes as much as 70 hours!).

Truth is, this music is yearning to be birthed, and I am the only one who can do it! It's my responsibility and my Gift. So I buckle down and let Spirit guide me to feats of sonic beauty and wonder and healing.
